With her <strong>22 cards<\/strong> painted on peperino stone glazed with pure oxides diluted in sulphurous water from the <strong>Bullicame<\/strong> and mounted on a panel, <strong>Cinzia Chiulli<\/strong>, a Viterbo ceramicist and one of the founders of the Laboratorio Artistica in San Pellegrino, won both the expert jury&#8217;s first prize and the public vote in the traditional artistic craftsmanship category. <strong>Stefano Todini<\/strong>, a <strong>stonemason from Tarquinia<\/strong>, instead received the jury&#8217;s prize for craftsmanship and design for his marble sculpture Evoluzione Continua, a tribute to the arts and crafts. In the same category, the public&#8217;s favourite was instead <strong>Daniela Lai<\/strong>, also a ceramicist at the <strong>Laboratorio Artistica<\/strong>, for her table, whose white-glazed top holds inlays of thick crystal and which rests on a peperino base built as a play of interlocking joints.<br \/>\n\u201cIt was difficult for the jury to choose, because the pieces on display are truly excellent,\u201d said <strong>Andrea Santolini,<\/strong> national president of <strong>CNA Artistico<\/strong> e Tradizionale, this morning at the award ceremony. He was echoed by the president of <strong>CNA di Viterbo<\/strong> and Civitavecchia, <strong>Angelo Pieri<\/strong>, who highlighted the value of the works presented by the 33 participating artisans: \u201cThey are all unique, never-before-seen pieces, an expression of the creativity and skill of our craftsmanship.\u201d The high quality was also highlighted by Mario Brutti, president of the Fondazione Carivit: \u201cOver time, the exhibition has borne witness to the maturing process of artistic craftsmanship and has brought out a hidden vitality. It has grown in quality, year after year.\u201d Also on the podium were the secretary of <strong>CNA di Viterbo<\/strong> and Civitavecchia, <strong>Luigia Melaragni<\/strong>, and the territorial president of <strong>CNA Artistico<\/strong> e Tradizionale, <strong>Lucia Maria Arena.<\/strong><br \/>\nHere are the other winners of the exhibition. In the traditional artistic craftsmanship category, second place went to Marco Scarici, of Capranica (whose two nature-inspired panels drew attention to the decorator&#8217;s pictorial tradition), and third place to Antonio Iachini, a restorer and luthier from Tuscania (with an electric guitar demonstrating great skill in working different types of wood).<br \/>\nFor design, second prize went to Cristiano Monzillo, a restorer from Viterbo (his armchair, designed using 3D modelling software but made entirely by hand), followed by Paolo De Alexandris, a goldsmith from Tarquinia (notable for a pendant assembled from stones of different origins and a handmade stainless-steel choker).<br \/>\nSpecial mention from the Fondazione Carivit for <strong>Anna Cirioni<\/strong>, a <strong>ceramicist from Civita Castellana<\/strong>.<br \/>\nFor the school category, <strong>Giuseppe Scevola<\/strong>, of the Liceo Artistico Francesco Orioli, was awarded.<br \/>\nThe jury, chaired by Mario Brutti, also included Andrea Santolini, Riccardo Monachesi, an architect and head of the Internationalisation and Territorial Marketing Area of the Lazio Region, Manuela Romagnoli, associate professor of Wood Science and Technology &#8211; Department of Cultural Heritage Sciences of the University of Tuscia,<strong> Gabriella Trani<\/strong>, art therapist, <strong>Silvia Valentini<\/strong>, of the Osservatorio dei Mestieri d&#8217;Arte of Florence.<br \/>\nAmong those present at the award ceremony were, amongst others, the Viterbo Municipality&#8217;s councillor for Economic Development, <strong>Sonia Per\u00e0,<\/strong> and the head of the Bic Lazio Spazio Attivo, <strong>Giulio Curti<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>Forme e Colori<\/strong> closes on <strong>Sunday 8 May<\/strong>.
