Cinzia meets the 40 Tuscan Restaurateurs and “Non-essential Categories”

Friday 13 November 2020. In this moment when everything has come to a halt, the meeting with the 40 Tuscan Restaurateurs and “non-essential categories” who are marching towards Rome, in my workshop in Viterbo, Via San Pellegrino, 27, was very moving. Normally, the invitation to sign inside an empty “footprint” I have painted on peperino is meant to welcome and immortalize the passage of pilgrims on the Via Francigena (the project “YOUR STEP IS ALREADY HISTORY“, conceived by Cinzia Chiulli); this time it was exceptionally extended to others too. The group of “non-essentials” — restaurateurs and related categories from Tuscany — are, in their own way, facing a journey whose only goal is to reclaim a dignity and decorum, both human and professional, tied to their beloved work.
