It would be good for everyone to move beyond the numbers and not turn everything into a competition where there must necessarily be a winner and a loser; when there are wars, there are never “absolute victories”.

I hope that love for the city is so “contagious” that it creates an unmanageable, incurable viral pandemic.

When the Christmas Village arrived, our wonderful old town turned into an exciting place, with the symbols of Christmas: the Nativity scene, Santa’s house… also giving people the chance to visit places unknown to most, such as Palazzo degli Alessandri and the stables of the Papal Palace. Many people ask me what I think of this edition. I have always been — and will always be — on the side of the City of Viterbo, so “Chapeau” to Caffeina, who were the first to know how to seize the opportunity, and how can we not also credit Fantaworld with the merit of having carried forward, in recent years, an event that has by now become dear to everyone?

This Christmas too — for different reasons — will remain unique, and personally I put my foot down on the accelerator; drawing on the memories of my childhood, on my family’s cultural roots and traditions, I experienced it more than ever as a celebration of SHARING JOY AND LOVE.

For me, living and working in the San Pellegrino district, it was a real joy to step out of the house and hear the Christmas carols providing the ideal backdrop for exchanges of smiles and good wishes, especially with people I did not know, in a context of peace and serenity — as should happen every day, but even more so during the Christmas holidays.

This, to me, is the meaning of Christmas: to see the city as an extension of my family. The “casa ponte” (bridge house), a typical medieval Viterbo dwelling, has metaphorically become everyone’s home, a symbol of Christmas to be lived as a family… the city is our home!

Each of us should reclaim a pride in belonging to the City of Viterbo. The Arcana of Faul were there to welcome and spark the curiosity of tourists and passers-by. Every day was rich in stories and emotions. It was thrilling, because many people, intrigued, asked questions about these figures. Tourists took photos with the characters they liked best. I understood that moving with the heart always leads to unexpected results… it was a MAGICAL CHRISTMAS… Thank you FantaWorld!
