The work – I GO, I TURN, “TORNIO” (Potter’s Wheel) – by Cinzia Chiulli Percorsi Artistici is a tribute to Viterbo, a city of ancient ceramic tradition. Following the spiral of the Game of the Goose, “in which origin and end, past and future interweave”, one ventures into secret places, celebratory architecture, and figures eager to be discovered.
An exciting symbolic journey that winds between squares considered “auspicious” and “inauspicious”, where obstacles to overcome appear, along with prisons, labyrinths and towers. It is an initiatory path on the theme of the eternal return, well known since the Odyssey, and it is precisely wild geese – bearers of a higher wisdom and celestial messengers – that symbolise it. The Master Builders used the goose as their emblem, as it represented the image of the triumph of spirit over matter. Many symbols of the game recall aspects of pilgrimage – the inn, the labyrinth – just as the dice indicate the cubic stone, a synthesis of the harmonic measures of the universe. So many meanings, stories and symbols reminding us that only by overcoming the trials will we reach the destination, the Great House of the Goose, the precious garden of Palazzo dei Priori. Table, Guelph chair and Ghibelline chair in wood… 63 modules made in glazed peperino, painted with the colours of “the earth”.
Materials: peperino, wood, resins.

We will soon share, one by one, the detailed explanation of all 63 modules.
